Pasta Alfredo

Ingredients

  • 2 cupsPasta (penne or fusilli), boiled al dente
  • 1 cupWhite béchamel sauce (see recipe)
  • 1/4 cupSweet corn
  • 1/2 cupMixed blanched vegetables (broccoli, beans, capsicum) — optional
  • 1 tbspButter
  • to tasteSalt
  • 1/2 tspBlack pepper
  • 1 tspMixed herbs
  • 2 tbspGrated cheese (garnish)

Method

    Heat butter in a pan. Toss in the blanched vegetables and sweet corn — 1 minute.

    Pour the white sauce in. Bring to a low simmer.

    Add the boiled pasta. Toss to coat — adjust thickness with a splash of pasta water if needed.

    Season with salt, pepper, mixed herbs. Cook 2 more minutes.

    Plate hot, shower with grated cheese. Serve immediately.
