Per serving
Ingredients
- 300 gHome puff pastry
- 2 tbspCheese spread or grated cheese
- 1/2 tspMixed herbs (optional)
- 1/2 tspChilli flakes (optional)
- 1 tbspMilk, to brush
Method
- 1
Roll the chilled puff pastry into a rectangle about 4 mm thick.
- 2
Spread the cheese spread evenly over one half of the pastry. If using grated cheese, scatter evenly. Sprinkle herbs and chilli flakes if using.
- 3
Fold the bare half of the pastry over the cheesy half — like closing a book.
- 4
Roll lightly with a rolling pin to seal the two layers together.
- 5
Cut into 1 cm wide strips. Hold each strip at both ends and twist 2 to 3 times to make a spiral. Place on a parchment-lined tray.
- 6
Brush with milk and bake in a preheated 220°C convection oven for 10 to 12 minutes until deep golden and crisp. Cool slightly on the tray — they firm up. Serve warm or at room temperature.
