Almond-Stuffed Date Chocolates

A wedding-favour staple — almonds tucked into dates, then dipped in chocolate. Naturally sweet, simple, and a nod to Middle-Eastern tradition.

Ingredients

  • 12Soft dates (medjool work best)
  • 12Whole almonds, lightly roasted
  • 100 gDark chocolate, melted
  • 1 tbspPistachio slivers (garnish)

Method

    Slit each date along one side, remove the seed.

    Insert a whole almond into each date. Press closed.

  3. 3

    Refrigerate the stuffed dates for 15 minutes — easier to dip when cold.

    Dip each date into melted dark chocolate. Lift out with a fork, let the excess drip off.

    Place on baking paper. Sprinkle pistachio slivers on top while the chocolate is still wet.

    Refrigerate 10 minutes to set.
