Virgin Mary

A non-alcoholic Bloody Mary — chilled tomato juice with Worcestershire, Tabasco and lemon. Savoury, brunchy, refreshing.

Ingredients

  • 500 mlTomato juice (chilled)
  • 4 tspLemon juice
  • 1 tspWorcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 tspTabasco sauce
  • 1/4 tspSalt
  • 1/4 tspBlack pepper
  • 1 bottleChilled soda water
  • as neededIce cubes
  • 1Celery stalk (garnish)

Method

    In a blender or large jug, combine tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire, Tabasco, salt, pepper and a handful of ice. Pulse a few seconds — don't over-blend or it goes foamy.

    Pour into tall highball glasses filled with ice.

    Top with chilled soda — about 50 ml per glass.

    Garnish with a celery stalk and lemon wedge. Serve immediately.
