Atta Cookies

A wholewheat cookie that doesn't taste healthy. Wheat flour replaces maida; liquid glucose and custard powder keep the bite tender.

Ingredients

  • 60 gMarvo
  • 65 gButter
  • 125 gSugar
  • a pinchSalt
  • 1/2 tspVanilla essence
  • 1/4 tspBaker's ammonia
  • 12.5 gLiquid glucose
  • 175 gWheat flour (atta)
  • 6 tspCustard powder
  • 1/4 tspBaking powder
  • 25 gCashew powder (kaju meal)
  • as neededMilk

Method

    Beat butter, marvo and sugar until creamy.

    Dissolve ammonia in 1/4 tsp water. Add to butter mix with vanilla and liquid glucose.

    Sieve wheat flour, custard powder, baking powder and cashew powder. Fold into the wet mix.

    Mix to a dough. Add a tablespoon of milk only if the dough is too dry to come together.

    Roll to 6 mm. Cut with a cutter.

    Bake at 170°C for 15–17 minutes. Cool completely before lifting.
